Quality Control Music Open the Year Mixtape by Losie
Welcome to Losie World ladies and gents. The newest mixtape from Quality Control Music artist, Losie, is the first of 2016 for the record-breaking label. Quality Music has a complete arsenal of Atlanta talent under their label and according to Billboard the two rap veterans who founded the Indie label are, “the smartest guys in hip-hop”. The innovative deal they have with 300 Entertainment sets them a part from other indie labels and the proof can be seen in their artist’s success. In 2014 when Quality Music released a Gangster Grillz compilation mixtape with all their artists, they made it clear they had the best artists coming out of Atlanta. That same year Losie released his second mixtape “BlackJack” but has since been on ice until the release of this tape, which is easily the hottest tape coming out of Atlanta right now. DJ Testarosa hosts the 15 track tape which after the intro, opens up with his single ‘Roger That’. Died hard fans may recognize the single ‘Roger That’, which has been circulating around Atlanta’s underground scene. But by placing it as the first full track on the tape he made a smart move to make this song a mainstream hit. This star-studded mixtape features several Atlanta favorites like Young Scooter, Yung LA, and Shawty Lo and production from the young legend Zaytoven. Ca$h Out even hops on a track to settle any previous beef the two may have had. The Atlanta style is often imitated but cannot be duplicated so when homegrown (not New Atlanta, but True Atlanta) artists are able to get together on a track, it’s a vibe you can’t find anywhere else. In a city that’s been tagged ‘The New Black Hollywood’, Losie World taps into the real heart of Atlanta, Zone 3 to be exact. From start to finish Losie brings the trap back and paints a real picture of the grind it takes to rise from the streets. One of the two Zaytoven tracks ‘Dis is How We Live’, couldn’t be a more perfect song to sum it all up—the name alone gives it away. Every song on this tape is high energy and taps into your hustler spirit, assuming you have one. It will be hard to listen to ‘I Just Want Some Money’ and not start chanting the same hook. How’s that for a New Year’s Resolution?
Ladies will find it hard not to twerk or shake something while listening to it, so don’t be surprised if a few of these tracks become a strip club favorite. The final track featuring Shawty Lo, ‘Working Late’ ends the tape on a cliff hanger—with fans hoping for more. Losie came out the gates strong and early with this new mixtape. If this is a preview for whatever upcoming projects we can expect then watch out, Quality Control Music may be adding more plaques under their belt.
