Dj Funky OG New Album | @DjFunkyATL

Dj Funky Does It Again

Since 2011 DJ Funky has provided the perfect soundtrack for smokers (and non smokers) everywhere with “Smoking While we Drive” and “Still Smoking While We Drive” in 2014. After a small hiatus, DJ Funky returns with another smokers album, “Funky OG”, dropping just in time for 4/20.

The 15 track album is available on iTunes and features tracks from rising artists Mozzy and club favorite, “Throw it Back”, by Joe Gifted and Trap Beckham. The entire album is laced with tracks to set the mood so whether you’re partying or chilling you’ll have something to vibe to.

The best part about this album is that DJ Funky stays true to his craft and introduces us to some new artists. Remember when DJ’s actually broke records and artists? Well don’t expect to hear the same artists you always hear on the radio; get ready to get put on to that new new.

4/20 only comes once a year but albums like this can make a day feel like a lifetime. With legalization spreading across the nation, it’s only right that DJ Funky do it for the culture! So before you get your 4/20 blazing, be sure to get that Funky OG blazing first!

Funky Darryl James aka DJ Funky is one of the South’s premiere DJs and has been a staple in the Atlanta music scene since the 1990’s. He started his illustrious music career as a DJ founding the legendary Legion of Doom DJs in 1995 creating a multitude of mixtapes and spinning in nearly every club in the “ATL”. He was also a featured DJ and radio personality on Jermaine Dupree’s So So Def Radio on CBS/V103fm interviewing the entertainment industry’s elite. DJ Funky is now one of the four founding members of the Coalition DJs who are responsible for breaking most of the new music you hear through Atlanta’s adult entertainment venues. Rap acts including 2Chainz, Future and Migos all credit DJ Funky and the Coalition DJs with turning their recent records into hits.

Izze The Producer Speaks On The Importance of Relationships In The Music Industry & Shares His Story [THE PROGRESS REPORT]

Meet 23 year old music producer, Izze The Producer, the hit maker of Rich Homie Quan’s “Blah Blah Blah”, Lil Durk’s “Real”, & Def Loaf’s “ Vibes”. After coming into contact three years ago in Atlanta, GA, Izze and I recently reconnected to speak on his journey as a producer, artist, & creator of all things beautiful.

During the interview, Izze speaks on the numerous sacrifices he has made traveling from his hometown of Virginia to Atlanta to pursue a career in the music industry. The energy, myths and culture of Atlanta is what intrigued Izze to relocate and position himself to become a household name. He even created his own record label, Honorary Members, which prides itself on elite artistry and quality over quantity.

“You must have a vision when you do anything”

Izze admits that his longtime relationships with Memphis rapper Young Dolph and other artists were fundamental to receiving placements. Once finding a studio home at Tree Sounds Studio in Atlanta, Izze found the perfect balance of creative freedom and opportunity. Izze hopes to follow the footsteps of musicians Zaytoven, Drumma Boy & Ryan Lesile and create endless Billboard hits.

Borrowed lyrics that Young Money artist Drake recited on his new single with Dj Khaled “For Free”. We all know those infamous words came from Legendary rapper Too Short. Recently Dj Funky caught up with Too Short in Atlanta & they spoke on everything from his lyrics, style, & tempo, being borrowed. Like the real OG he is, he doesn’t mind!
